Re-enable plugin in Outlook 2016 and 2019

Introduction

This document explains how to reactivate the Zivver Office Plugin when Outlook has disabled it. You can recognize this by the notification: “Outlook has disabled the plugin.” Outlook may disable a plugin if it slows Outlook down—even by just a few milliseconds. By manually re-enabling the plugin, you indicate that you would like to continue using Zivver.

Re-enable the plugin

  1. Click File at the top left of Outlook.
  2. Click Slow and Disabled COM Add-ins.
    A new window opens.
  3. Locate the Zivver Office Plugin in the list.
  4. Click Always enable this add-in.
    The plugin is now enabled. You can send and read Zivver messages.

Alternative method

If the steps in Re-enable the plugin do not solve the issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Click File at the top left of Outlook.
  2. Go to Options.
    A new window opens.
  3. Select the Add-ins tab.
  4. In the Manage drop-down menu, click Disabled Items.
  5. Click Go....
  6. Find the Zivver Office Plugin in the list.
  7. Click Enable.
  8. In the Manage drop-down menu, click COM Add-ins.
  9. Click Go....
  10. Find the Zivver Office Plugin in the list.
  11. Check the box for the Zivver Office Plugin.
  12. Click OK.
    The plugin is now enabled. You can communicate securely with Zivver.
