Message revocation
Introduction
Message revocation is useful in the following situations:
- The user wants to withdraw a message that was sent by mistake.
Examples: wrong recipient, wrong content. - The user must comply with retention policies or legal requirements.
A user can manually revoke a message they sent (see revoke immediately or schedule revocation for more information).
Administrators can set the default revocation behavior for their organization. This guide describes how to set a default revocation interval and scope for all users in the organization.
Procedure
- Log in to the Zivver WebApp.
- Click
Organization Settings in the left navigation panel.
- Click
Policies.
- Click Message revocation.
- Select the option you want to set as the default for your organization:
- No revocation: By default, messages will not be scheduled for revocation.
- Revoke for recipients: By default, messages will be scheduled for revocation after a certain time, but only for the recipients. Recipients can access the message until the revocation time.
- Revoke for recipients and sender: By default, messages will be scheduled for revocation after a certain time for all users. Both the sender and recipients can access the message until the revocation time.
- After selecting a revocation option, set the revocation period by entering a number and selecting the unit (hours, days, or weeks) from the drop-down list.
- Click .
Users can change the default interval and scope before the message expires. They can also cancel the expiration.
