Requirements for Plugin Assisted Mail Submission
To implement Zivver Plugin Assisted Mail Submission (PAMS), your organization must meet these requirements:
- The Zivver Office Plugin v5.7.13 or newer for Microsoft Outlook (for Windows) must be installed.
- PAMS must be enabled in the Zivver Office Plugin with a registry key.
- You use one of these mail servers or a Secure Email Gateway (SEG):
- Microsoft Exchange Online as part of Office 365.
- Microsoft Exchange On-Premise 2013 or newer.
- A SEG that can:
- Filter outbound messages on a custom mail header.
- Submit messages to a custom smart host.
- Any other mail server that can:
- Filter outbound messages on a custom mail header.
- Submit messages to a custom smart host.
Use the latest version of the Zivver Office Plugin. To find out the latest version, refer to the Zivver Office Plugin release notes. You can also send an email to support@zivver.com.
PAMS enablement for the Zivver Office Plugin
To use PAMS, you must enable this function in the Zivver Office Plugin. Without enabling the PAMS function, your mail server or Secure Email Gateway (SEG) does not process sent Zivver messages. Refer to the corresponding chapter on how to enable this.
Requirements for mail servers or Secure Email Gateway
If your organization uses a Secure Email Gateway (SEG), you can implement PAMS in your mail server or in your SEG. That depends on the requirements of your organization.
You can also implement PAMS in a SEG or a mail server other than Microsoft Exchange (Online or On-Premise). That SEG or mail server must filter outbound messages on a custom mail header. Subsequently, the message that is filtered out by the mail server must be submitted to a custom smart host.
