Introduction

With Zivver, you can securely send messages from Simplex. Easily and securely send appointment reminders, referrals, and invoices directly from Simplex. You can choose whether to send a message as a regular message or as a secure message.

To send secure email from Simplex, you need a business Zivver account in combination with the Zivver Mail Submission add-on. Mail Submission requires an Ultimate subscription and a contract that includes Mail Submission. To activate Mail Submission, contact sales@zivver.com.

Getting started

To send secure email from Simplex, you need a business Zivver account. The steps below allow you to check whether your account is a business account and which organization you are a member of. Repeat these steps for each email address you use in Simplex.

1. Open a web browser and go to https://app.zivver.com.
2. Log in with your email address and password.
3. Go to Personal Settings settings.
4. Click account_circle Profile in the top-left corner.
5. At the top of your profile, you will see the name of the organization you are a member of:
   Your account is part of [name of your organization]
6. Your account is suitable for sending secure email from Simplex.

Note

If you do not see the text Your account is part of [name of your organization], but you do have a business account, ask the administrator of your organization to invite you.

Setting up Mail Submission in Zivver

To enable secure email in Simplex, you use the Zivver Mail Submission functionality. You must be an administrator to configure this.

1. Go to SMTP credentials.
2. Click New SMTP credentials.
3. Enter a description.
   For example, “Simplex”.
4. Click Generate.
   A new screen opens showing a username and password. These details are shown only once. Make sure to store them securely.
5. Click Close.

You have now generated an SMTP username and SMTP password. You will enter these details in Simplex later. Make sure to store them safely.

Setting up secure email in Simplex

There are two configuration options for sending secure email from Simplex. Choose one of the options below.

Send all messages from Simplex securely via Zivver

1. Start Simplex.
2. Go to Applicatie-instellingen > Systeem > Email accounts instellen.
3. Click Wijzigen.
4. In the top-right corner, enter the following details:
   • For SMTP servernaam, enter smtp.zivver.com:587.
   • For SMTP inlognaam, enter the username from the previous chapter Mail submission instellen in Zivver.
   • For SMTP wachtwoord, enter the password from the previous chapter Mail submission instellen in Zivver.
   • For Uw eigen email adres, enter the sender’s email address.
   • For Naam afzender op email, enter the sender’s name.
   • For Reply email adres, enter the sender’s email address.
5. Optional: enable Eerst inloggen voor het verzenden (bij twijfel uit laten staan).
6. For Beveiliging (bij afwijkende poortnummers), select indien aanwezig, beveiliging gebruiken (Explicit TLS).
7. Click OK.

You can now send secure messages from Simplex.

Choose per message whether it should be sent securely via Zivver

1. Start Simplex.
2. Go to Applicatie-instellingen > Systeem > Email accounts instellen.
3. Click Toevoegen add.
4. Enter an Accountnaam.
   For example, “Zivver”.
5. Enter an Omschrijving.
   For example, “Verstuur veilig”.
6. Enable Account is aktief.
7. Enable Default account. You can always manually select a different Email account to send a regular email.
8. Enter the POP3 servernaam of your email provider.
   This does not relate to your Zivver account.
9. Enter the POP3 inlognaam of your email account.
10. Enter the POP3 wachtwoord.
11. Optional: enable Verwijder emails na het ophalen van de POP3 server if required.
12. In the top-right corner, enter the following details:
    • For SMTP servernaam, enter smtp.zivver.com:587.
    • For SMTP inlognaam, enter the username from the previous chapter Mail submission instellen in Zivver.
    • For SMTP wachtwoord, enter the password from the previous chapter Mail submission instellen in Zivver.
    • For Uw eigen email adres, enter the sender’s email address.
    • For Naam afzender op email, enter the sender’s name.
    • For Reply email adres, enter the sender’s email address.

You can now send secure messages from Simplex.

Sending a secure message

1. Click Nieuwe email > Voer zelf een email adres in.
2. Compose a message.
3. Under Gebruik account, select an email account that sends messages via Zivver.
4. Send the message as you normally would.

The recipient will now receive the message securely via Zivver.
